Price Paid:  $152.00 from on ebay

Summary:

great little camera good picture quality for a two mp...for everyday shots.

Strengths:

good pic quality even in macro mode ISO of 400 easy to understand menu of choices lightweight good battery life with rechargeables b/w mode

Weaknesses:

lens jammed up after four months of heavy usage shutter delay---a lot of missed shots

Customer Service:

HORRIBLE customer service...if you need to repair it, even under warrantyyou'll just get the constant run around and have to jump thru hoops...throw it away and start again!

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $180.00 from WalMart

Summary:

I'll never buy another Toshiba camera. This one has been in and out of the service shop and still won't work! Customer service extremely poor.

Strengths:

Good optical zoom. Optical viewfinder as well as LCD. Uses smartmedia cards. B&W mode.

Weaknesses:

Frequent total failure of lens zoom, focus and retraction systems. Power switch won't stay off. Eats batteries. No warning when rechargable batteries run down.

Similar Products Used:

Fuji 2800 - better camera but no B&W mode. Fuji DX-10 - lower resolution but very reliable. Kodak DC20 - very low resolution, but reliable. Relysis Dimera 3500 - battery hog, fixed focus, no zoom, but very reliable.

Customer Service:

Very bad. Sending an email to the address provided gets an automatic response that points you to a web page that provides the same email address.

Price Paid:  $179.00 from Wal-mart

Summary:

I love this camera!! I bought the camera to take pics for selling on ebay and it is perfect!

Strengths:

It is a great camera for the money. It takes great close up photos of details of clothing and text. It doesn't need much light-I never use the flash!

Weaknesses:

Uses up regular batteries very fast- I am buying an ac adaptor for ebay pics.

Similar Products Used:

I tried several cameras out from wal-mart and took them all back until I found this one!

Customer Service:

I have not needed service yet

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $199.00 from Cosco

Summary:

Good value for what it is: An inexpensive camera for simple photography. This camera will give you fair to good quality pictures in bright outdoor settings. Color reproduction is pretty good and sharpness and resolution are also good in strong light. However, pictures taken in reduced light settings will give a wide range of poor results--at least in my experience. The problems I have encountered range from poor focus, exceptional graininess, and an odd blue halo that forms along the top of the frame. Also, this camera seems to be a bit more susceptible to lens flare, but ths may just be my poor photographic skills coming into play... If you're looking for an inexpensive camera to take with you on day trips, this will fill the bill. If you are looking for a versitaile camera that will give a solid performance in a range of conditions, this is not what you're looking for.

Strengths:

Low cost, some nice features, not too many wierd features.

Weaknesses:

Poor performance in low or limited light situations.

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

Not great due to poor flash performance especially in auto-mode. Fundamentally good optics and color. A good photo-editing program cures most exposure problems.

Strengths:

Price and exposure controls. Good outdoor performance. Excellent battery life with NiMH AA batteries.

Weaknesses:

Weak flash. Poor low light focus. Automatic mode flash pictures are usually poor. Manually setting the camera for increased exposure greatly improves performance so that most indoor photos are pretty good. Useless for very dim lighting such as an evening wedding reception due to inability to focus in dim ballroom lighting.
