Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $40.00 from ebay

Summary:

A wonderful camera for the money; after seeking an affordable, quality digital camera to play around with, I lucked out on a great deal for this camera on ebay. It in every way exceeds my hopes, and the only way I could be more pleased with it is if it came with a larger memory card and a case.

Strengths:

Recycleable memory card; easy settings allow you to change picture resolution, letting you adjust between "silly snapshots", "slightly more serious outings", and "nicely detailed pictures at the museum"; the LCD is a nice feature, but I don't find much need for it-tons of wonderful little settings and options have been packed into this camera, making it perfect for either a beginner, or a tight-fisted digital camera buyer. Easy installation, easy operation, I definitely recommend it!

Weaknesses:

You will probably need to do some color adjusting of the tints for indoor pictures-though it will depend a great deal on your lighting source. Other then that-you may want to upgrade to a larger capacity memory card, especially for the higher-resolution pictures(with the 8mb card, you get 10 high res photos-nice, but I want more).

Similar Products Used:

In cheap digital cameras: JamCam, both the old and new version---their high res settings are the SiPix 1300's lowest res settings, and I paid the same amount for the JamCam(boy do I feel stupid!)

Customer Service:

Have had no need to contact them-this item installed perfectly and has not given any trouble.

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $120.00 from PC Mall

Summary:

I''ve had this camera for about 6 weeks. I paid $120.00 with shipping. The camera is really a great value. The camera is simple to use. I had a few pictures printed at a local photo shop and the 4x6 prints truly look like those of a 35MM camera. I use the camera for every day ordinary pictures such as the kids ball games, small parties, and back yard BBQ''s. I found a small camera pouch for my waist that makes this camera easy to travel with. I''m not concerned if it breaks because it''s cheap. Therefore I let everyone borrow it. However, for quality photos like weddings, I don''t take chances and I use my Canon Rebel 35MM.

Strengths:

Lightweight, rear display screen, inexpensive, takes good pictures, easy to use, low battery consumption, uses compact flash for storage.

Weaknesses:

Thick camera (bulky). Indoor pictures are slighty dark. On/off dial is flimsy. No optical zoom. View finding is not accurate.

Similar Products Used:

I used a Nikon 990 at $900.00 for about 3 weeks. Much nicer, but much more expensive. I also considered the Fuji FInePix 4700 because of it''s features, but I never got to use it.

Customer Service:

Not used

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $120.00 from CompUSA

Summary:

Well, I bought my SiPix 1300 as an inexpensive introduction to digital photography. I''d never heard of SiPix before so I considered it somewhat of a gamble. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! The camera is pretty much no-frills, and I''ve noticed that outside shots made with natural light tend to be quite a bit on the blue side, but bringing up the red and green is easy enough with the software included. Of course it''s only 1.3 megapixels, but the shots I''ve taken came out very well in prints ordered from Ofoto.com. Overall, it''s been a great value and I haven''t had a single gripe other than the fact that the viewfinder isn''t very accurate which is minor. I haven''t had it for too long, but so far I haven''t found a better camera for the cost. However my brother just got a HP 215, so we''ll see how it compares...

Strengths:

Value, features, good battery life, good quality pics for a 1.3 megapixel.

Weaknesses:

No lens cap or camera case, viewfinder inacurate.
